Hi Amy!
I originally had meant to update this more frequently and with more detail, but I've been slacking..Anyways, this week: Mostly waking up late, going to bed late. Tuesday - Went Swimming, Had Quartet Practice, Beer and Desserts with Steve and Rolanda Wednesday - Went Running, Went to a Country Bar out in MD with the peeps. Thursday - Woke up late, Went to school and scored with some fellowship money, ran errands, Went rock climbing with the peeps Today, I woke up with a sore throat, and feeling pretty shitty in general. They've been doing aesbestos removal in the basement across the hall and below me. My paranoid side says that they're not being careful enough and that waking up and feeling shitty has something with me inhaling aesbestos. In fact though, I think I was dehydraded and had a sore throat, and also allergies. I woke up, drank 8 cups of water, and took some Claratin, and then felt a lot better (but still slightly under the weather). I've been gulping down Voodoo Tea (Amy's Dad's tea). For lunch, I went over to Garth's place where Garth, Scott, and Mary made philly cheesesteak sandwiches (which I'm still burping up). Actually, Garth's kitchen is really small, so he and Mary made cooked while Scott and I sat and watched a documentary on John Holmes - what a interesting and messed up life. Then, we spent some time planning out an econ project that Garth, Scott and I were working on... This weekend should be pretty good: Tomorrow morning is the race for the cure - I forgot to sign up, but I'm thinking about going and either watching, or jogging informally. For the afternoon/evening, I'm hoping to get some people go go museum hopping (since It's supposed to rain all afternoon). Sunday, I signed up to take an outdoor climbing class with Violetta, out at Great Falls. If the weather's good, Daiv and Ann were going to go hiking, and then catch up with us afterwards to do some climbing. It should be fun! (7.40 pm

Back to DC
I'm back now,Impromptu trip back to Dallas to visit the family, and out to a high school wedding in Colorado. To be completely uninteresting, here are the highlights: Dallas: Colorado: Anyways, I'm back now. I wasn't too happy about being back at first, but it's nice to get rest and have alone time. I thought I would be at work first thing monday morning, but my internship has been delayed. I'm hoping to start tomorrow or the day after. (4.16 pm

) Shitty Service
I just spent 3 hours trying to figure out why I can't send email from home anymore. After 3 hours of troubleshooting every part of my system, I finally figured out that my broadband service provider, RCN, no longer allows you to send mail through any other system than through theirs, thus breaking my ability to send mail through heehorse.com or through school. This doesn't change much, I'm just pissed because they never told me, and it took 3 hours of my life to figure this out. How come service is so shitty these days? It seems like the larger the company, the shittier the service. I've seen it happen with Sprint, T-Mobile, and now RCN. It seems like the larger the company gets, the smaller the complaint/satisfaction matters for the individual consumer, especially if they have few competitors, and if you're tied into a long term contract. On a related note, the FCC just relaxed its regulations allowing ClearChannel to take over an even bigger monopoly over our media. I'm usually for greater deregulation, but I see a disturbing trend of the balance between business and individuals being tilted in favor of business. I don't think its so much that Republicans are in office, but that business, via money, has had increasingly strong influence in politics, as they have become more savvy and more in tune with the political and money-giving process. Ack. Anyways, my mail works, so I'm happier now. I'm still pissed that I just wasted my whole afternoon, though... (4.08 pm
